Alison graduated in Graphic Design in 1990 and now works full time as a professional illustrator and printmaker from her garden studio in Milton. She designs primarily for the stationery industry, and has had countless designs published by Flamingo Paperie (formerly Phoenix Trading) as well as Green Pebble and Artist’s Cards. Her printmaking work continues to be inspired by patterns in nature; from trees to close-up studies of seed heads and the birds she sees on her daily dog walks. Her largest print to date is a to scale version of the spiral of pebbles found in Kettles Yard House.
She has participated in Cambridge Open Studios every year since 1996 and is currently a volunteer on the Management Team. Alison sells her prints and cards to many shops and galleries around the country, local ones include VK Gallery (St Ives), Haddenham Arts Centre and Babylon Gallery, Ely. She has recently produced a series of oil paintings on wooden panels depicting the contrasting landscapes of the the Highlands and the Fens.
Alison also has her own popular range of screen-printed tea towels, cards and coasters featuring her designs and is pleased to supply Anglesey Abbey, Houghton Mill, Ickworth House, Wimpole Hall and Wicken Fen National Trust Shops.
